I decided to make my little houses into a small wall hanging.  I sewed the 6.5 inch house blocks in short little rows left to right with fabric strips between each one.  I added stabilizer on the back side of each strip of houses before I started sewing down the parts of the houses.  I had to keep reminding myself that at that stage I was not quilting and providing texture and details, but rather primarily attaching or appliqueing the pieces of the houses. Quilting will come later when I have the three layers, top, bottom and batting, sandwiched together.

Raw Edge Appliqueing the pieces of the houses.

I had to use scissors and a seam ripper to pull away the stabilizer.
