This morning, with the window open, I awoke to the sound of various birds and the distinct sound of wild turkeys.  As I sipped my morning coffee I saw at the edges of the yard, blue jays, robins and cardinals and a wild turkey saunter through.  Just now as I was closing the upstairs window I saw a large, plump rabbit nibbling on something along the front beds.  Such a tranquil setting, in stark contrast to the journey ahead of us in a few minutes when we will speed along on an urban highway to a busy hospital.  Patients and visitors alike would all prefer to be nestled safely and quietly in our peaceful abodes. Hmm. I guess that rabbit, now sitting back and scratching behind one ear, feels the same way about the encroaching road near his quiet grassy patch.
