What do “ticker tapes”, “confetti” and “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” have in common? They are all quilts made from scraps from other projects. Crazy Mom Quilts wrote about Ticker Tape Quilts. There is a Flickr group of Ticker Tape Quilts. Mary Mashuta published a book on Confetti Quilts and has some great examples on her website. And while a number of quilt groups have used Reduce, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as a theme for quilt making, Rene Creates has used that as a name for her process of making Ticker Tape Quilts at our Quilt Guild.  We shared scrapes at our recent Sew Day and most worked on their own individual Ticker Tape quilt.  It was much more fun than I thought it would be (especially having access to a wide array of scraps), and I can imagine that this technique could be used equally well for blankets, pillows, pillow cases and bags. The following photos are my ticker tape quilt in process and then the final results.
